چکیده

This paper presents a 2.4 GHz 0.18 μm CMOS single-ended Variable Gain Low noise Amplifier (VGLNA). The circuit is suitable for low voltage, low power operation, uses a current-reuse topology to increase linear gain and save power consumption. The common-source gain stages are stacked for minimum power dissipation while maintaining high gain. The VGLNA exhibits noise figure less than 3 dB and gain of 12 dB and 8 dB gain tuning range , P1dB of -2.8dBm. The VGLNA circuit dissipates 2.3 mW DC power from a supply voltage of 1.2 V. A gain/power figure of 5.2 dB/mW is achieved. Simulation results are presented

A Broadband Low Power CMOS LNA for 3.1–10.6 GHz UWB Receivers

A new approach for designing an ultra wideband (UWB) CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) is presented. The aim of this design is to achieve a low noise figure, reasonable power gain and low power consumption in 3.1-10.6 GHz. Also, the figure of merit (FOM) is significantly improved at 180nm technology compared to the other state-of-the-art designs. Improved π-network and T-network are used to obt...

A New Ultra-Wideband Low Noise Amplifier With Continuous Gain Control

This paper presents a new variable gain low noise amplifier (VG-LNA) for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed VG-LNA uses a common-source (CS) with a shunt-shunt active feedback as an input stage to realize input matching and partial noise cancelling. An output stage consists of a gain-boosted CS cascode and a gain control circuit that moves the high resonant frequency to higher freq...

An Ultra-Low-Voltage and Ultra-Low-Power 2.4 GHz LNA Design

In this paper, ultra-low-voltage and ultra-lowpower circuit techniques are presented for CMOS RF front-ends. By employing a modified current-reused architecture, the low-noise amplifier (LNA) can operate at a very low supply voltage with microwatt power consumption while maintaining reasonable circuit performance at 2.4 GHz. Using a TSMC 0.18 um CMOS process, from the simulation results, the fu...

A Thesis for the Degree of Master Design of 2~2.5 GHz Variable Gain LNA and 2.4 GHz Low Power Folded RF Front- End

Currently, there are two demands in RF front-end design such as multi-standard application and low power consumption. However, it is difficult to satisfy these demands simultaneously. Therefore, two design techniques are explained in this paper, respectively. In this paper, two RF circuits, a variable gain LNA and low power folded RF frontend, are designed. At first, a variable gain LNA (VG-LNA...

A 1 V Uwb Lna with Excellent Group Delay Variation

In this paper, a 1 V UWB LNA in TSMC 0.13 um CMOS process technology is designed. The power consumption is only 7.6 mW. By employing RLC peaking, high-frequency poles are moved outside of the 3.1-10.6 GHz band of interest, and a flat power gain and an excellent phase linearity are achieved. By applying DC voltage to the bulk of transistors, a low voltage LNA is accomplished. The proposed LNA is...
